I’m now more or less resigned to transferring documents to the older Mac via Air Drop or a USB stick. If you don't see your model listed, check with the manufacturer for more information.” My HP 3050 J610 does not appear in this list. This information is provided by each manufacturer and is updated regularly by Apple. On the Apple website, the reference to Air Print states: “The following printers and print servers are AirPrint-enabled. Are there better USB cables that have an older plug (for the printer end) and a ‘C’ plug (for the Mac end)? Might this help? I’m going from the printer via an older style USB plug and cable into the Mac via a ZMUIPNG adaptor that clips into the two C sockets on the side. I read that a lossy cable can cause problems. It is now connected again via the USB cable to the new MBP. This time I did try a network connection but gave up and deleted the network. It was always used on the (10.13.6) Mac with a USB cable – I never set it up for wireless. It still works on the older Mac – scans, does copies and prints. But this current printer it is noted simply as USB. These are named and to the right, under “Kind” I see “Bonjour Selected”. In the box “Add Printers” I see different printers that have been used in the past with the older Mac. I tried Jake’s suggestion of clearing the printers and adding the plus sign after a reboot but to no avail. I have just bought a USB-ZMUIPNG multifunctional HUB (ZM1816) that clips into the side of the new MBP – does this help with the monitor? But does anyone know whether it’s just HP that has no drivers for BS? Can we expect HP to fix this problem any time soon? Don't suppose there's any kind of all-in-one driver that handles all printers, a bit like Adobe for PDFs. HP tell me that none of their printers is compatible with BS! They say they have received phone calls and the matter is under review … (?) I don’t do much printing and can limp along for now by air-dropping to the old Mac. To make matters worse, I’ve got three new 301 cartridges in a drawer. More serious is that my perfectly good HP Printer Scanner HP 3030 J610 is not compatible with Big Sur. With a new MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019 – OS 11.2), I’d expected problems with plugs and sockets.
